Teak furniture is very simply superior wood furniture. If you are a homeowner thinking of buying new furniture that is especially beautiful, strong, and traditional, then teak will fit the bill very splendidly. Inside or outside, this particular type of wood has a certain quality, a depth of grain, and an aroma that is elegant, subtle, yet also striking.

Many people are captivated by the appearance of teak. It has an alluring quality that some consider as almost mystical. Used since ancient times, it has a reputation for superior strength and was used in heavy construction. Naturally weather-resistant, it is a wood with longevity. It is not susceptible to the elements, even ice and snow or to hot, humid conditions. It has natural oil within the wood that does not dissipate over time. Its oil serves as an insect repellant and preservative that enables the wood to be essentially free of termite damage, mole and rot. It will last for many generations without deterioration. The elements will discolor teak, but treatments will restore the original luster that makes teal so famous.

Both for indoor and outdoor furniture, this gracious wood is now used in many furniture designs and styles that makes it naturally complimentary to any lifestyle or to any architectural style. It is perfect in accentuating other furniture you may already have. As it is not vulnerable to water, it can be used near your pool area without any problem. This is not as true of wicker, iron, or soft woods that may need a protective veneer or paint to make it suitable for use in wet conditions.

Teal wood is a strong wood and needs only periodic care. This care is a treatment to maintain its deep color. Some prefer the silvery grey quality that aged teak acquires when exposed to the elements. It is up to you if you wish to maintain the deep, rich color of teak or allow it to age into a silvery grey hue.

Teal wood comes in a variety of colors, often dependant on the origin of the wood.

Teak furniture is a valuable addition to any home interior or exterior. From the bedroom and dining room to the patio, terrace and pool area, teak furniture is a desirable addition. No other type of wood has the look, the aroma, the depth, the strength and durability, the resistance to termites mold, and rot as this precious type of wood.
